Our Founder - Robin Diane Lynn
In 2003, Momentum Education was started by Robin Diane Lynn (Jun 28, 1951 - January 15, 2010). She was a mother of three as well as a grandmother of three. Not only was she one of the kindest, biggest hearts and uplifters you could ever meet, but she was an internationally recognized inspirational trainer and life coach, who spent her career facilitating personal empowerment workshops all over the world, including the former Soviet Union, North America, Europe, and post-apartheid South Africa. The desire she felt in her heart to better the lives of others and reshape the possibilities of what someone’s future could look like, laid the foundation for everything Momentum Education stands for – and how our organization has had such tremendous impact over the years.
Robin's work in South Africa with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission garnered her recognition and acknowledgment from the Clinton Administration for designing and implementing a series of specialized workshops that supported survivors of the atrocities of apartheid. The workshops were designed to help participants heal, forgive and fully participate in the creation of a new South African society in which people could thrive and finally refocus on what truly mattered to them personally and professionally.
The experience of helping people who faced unspeakable violence and oppression, to envision and create better lives for themselves and a just society for those around them inspired Robin to found Momentum Education. Her mission was to transform humanity through acceptance, healing, leadership, contribution, and empowerment, while imparting hope and genuine care to everyone she met.
In 2009, Robin created Momentum for Teens – a non-profit organization that teaches the principles of leadership to young people. Creating a space where teens could understand that they matter, achieve their goals and be leaders in their own families and communities was also a passion of Robin’s and a goal she was able to reach before her passing in January 2010.
Her legacy is echoed through every last value of Momentum Education and can be felt through all of our events and programming. Robin’s vision has remained relevant, innovative, and groundbreaking because helping others achieve the most in life never goes out of style. She is the mother of all inspiration.
