June 2003


Founder Robin Diane Lynn co-leads the first Momentum workshop for 20 participants. This workshop leads to the first Momentum Advanced Course Leadership courses.

June 2004


Momentum moved to its first physical office and training space in NYC.


June 2004


Momentum delivered its first youth-based Teen Trainings.





October 2009


Robin Lynn was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Her son, Robinson Lynn became acting Director, and eventually Executive Director in January of 2010.

June 2011


The first Momentum Honors Event celebrating the birth of Robin Diane Lynn happened, and Momentum graduates made a difference in the world. This event would go on to become a yearly event raising funds for nonprofits.


2013


Beyoncé donates $100,000 to Momentum Education’s Youth Program.


August 2012


Momentum Education moved its office and training facility to Midtown New York City. Minutes away from the United Nations.

January 2014


Momentum offered its first West Coast Basic Workshop (now known as the Momentum Workshop) in Los Angeles California.




September 2014


Sylvia High and ‘Aiming High’ produced the first of the annual Women’s Conference “I Am Woman” in Atlanta, Georgia as one of the nations premier multicultural conference experiences.

November 2014


After having previously offering the Momentum workshop approximately 8-9 times a year in New York City, Momentum with a focus on giving to first responders and those in service and contribution-based professions was able to expand to offer the Momentum workshop twice a month in New York City (doubling the amount of people impacted on a yearly basis).

January 2015


Momentum Education’s first Seattle Momentum Workshop occurs with approximately 50 participants.



January 2016


Momentum declares to be in aid and support to those who are currently experiencing hunger, and as a result from fundraising and volunteering the Momentum Community helps to provide 1 million meals in 2016. The goal and result doubles to 2 millions meals in 2017, and currently has surpassed 12 million meals since 2016.


April 2016


Momentum begins offering the Momentum Workshop, Advanced Course, and Art of Leadership programs in the United States Capital of Washington, DC. Those first trainings were hosted at the historic Gallaudet University.


August 2018


Momentum Education partners with the Ministry of Education for the country of Antigua and Barbuda to provide trainings of teachers and administrators through the counties education department.


October 2018


Momentum partners with the organization MIPAD (Most Influential People of African Descent) in support of the International Decade for People of African Descent, proclaimed by United Nation’s General Assembly resolution 68/237 and to be observed from 2015 to 2024. Momentum annually supports MIPAD and The UN as a progressive network joining together in the spirit of recognition, justice and development of Africa, it’s people on the continent and across it’s Diaspora.


June 2019


Momentum is invited to walk in the New York City Pride Day March, celebrating and acknowledging the LGBTQIA+ community while also marking the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. The Momentum community proudly held and marched holding one of the largest pride flags in history (spanning several city blocks).


June 2020


Momentum made the successful transition to digital workshop offerings that allow participants to engage across the globe. Within its first year of virtual offerings, Momentum hosted over 500 events featuring over 4,000 people from 45 different countries.


January 2021


Momentum’s Impactful Coaching and Mentor Coaching becomes Certified through the International Coaching Federation (ICF) to certify and apply hours towards ICF certification.

2021


In the United States, Momentum continues to focus on transforming the education system of the United States, at this point has worked with over 10,000 youth directly along with over 8,000 educators who collectively impact the lives of over 250,000 young people in their school districts.

During the 18th Anniversary, Momentum Education announces its 2021 calendar featuring a hybrid of Virtual and In Person offerings with the intention of continuing to support our community of over 30,000 graduates in living the life they dream about.
