Trainer and Curriculum Coordinator for Momentum Education Teen Basic, Leslie is a multifaceted facilitator who has a stellar reputation as an advocate on behalf of youth and young adults. He has more than a decade of experience as a personal development coach, and has supported countless men, women, youth and families in overcoming their own limiting beliefs and breaking through to new levels of engagement.

A gifted poet, actor and playwright, Leslie is known in the entertainment world as Buttaflysoul, but to the teens and young adults whose lives he has helped transform, Leslie is known as “Uncle Butta,” the teacher who imparts important life lessons through unvarnished truth and healing humor. His focus is always on the social and emotional growth of those he serves, and his students have said that Leslie’s edgy, authentic, and compassionate style holds the power to “move mountains.”

Leslie has appeared on Russell Simmons’ Def Poetry Jan hosted a radio program on New York’s WBAI 99.5-FM, and his own online radio show Phenomenal Soul Session on E-3 radio. He has presented inspirational entertainment on college campuses across the country, including the University of Maryland University, Rutgers University, Howard University, New York University, and Brooklyn Academy of Music. His work has been published in numerous poetry journals and magazines, and his one-man show ”Buttaflysoul for President” received critical acclaim in New York and Washington DC.

Leslie describes himself as a”citizen of the world” who currently resides in the great City of Chicago where is one do the lead Case Managers for a nonprofit who services homeless youth.
